Aaron Barlow
designer's statement
Aaron Barlow is currently a Junior Film & Video Major at the Maryland Institute College of Art and is also working on completing an Experimental Fashion Concentration.
Unsatisfied with his prior safety-pinning skills, he took on a Costume Design class and decided to throw out his large box of safety pins and second-hand clothes for costuming. His actresses were not too happy acting and playing the role of a human pin-cushion.
He now focuses on creating period-inspired garments for his narratives and welcomes great opportunities such as: working with JShoes to make biker leather bras out of shoes, drag queen roommates, and working with the inspiring women of the Steps to the Cure event.
