Stacey Keen, M.D. Radiologist with Advanced Radiology
In my twenty-five years as a radiologist, I've devoted my career to women's health in general and breast imaging in particular. Nine years ago, I found breast cancer on my own screening mammogram. The support of family, friends, and acupuncture helped sustain me through my treatment of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation- the blessings of modern medicine that saved my life.
My study of martial arts - I'm a 4th degree black belt in Ninjutsu - has honed my fighting spirit. It enhanced my ability to persevere through treatment, continuing my work and my ninjutsu training throughout. Martial arts has also forged my resolve to broaden the battle against breast cancer beyond myself to the community.
It has been my privilege to serve on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure since 2005. Since this past April, I've been the President of the Board. I am determined to fulfill the mission, so well articulated by Komen for the Cure, "to save lives and end breast cancer forever."
