I was diagnosed with breast cancer on September 3, 2010, three weeks before my 42nd birthday. The diagnosis completely devastated me. Since that day I have met and been encouraged by so many wonderful people. I know that I am a better person for it. My husband, Jeff has been my rock through my bad days and a constant source of support every day. My children, Matt and Mandy, Erica, Breanna, and Olivia have been so helpful and understanding.. My mother never entertained a thought that the outcome would be anything but good. My sisters Cathy and Marie sent countless cards that made me smile. I must thank my doctors, Dr. Slezak for giving me breasts that are so much nicer than the ones I started with. Dr. Maizel for taking the time to always answer my questions, Dr. Cohen for easing my mind that there are treatments that work for my diagnosis, and Dr. Rosen for my sanity. A special thank you to Barbara Raksin for always giving me light at the end of the tunnel. I never realized that there are so many people in my life who care about me , and I will never take them for granted again.
