Heidi Peach
I just turned 50 and I feel so blessed! I graduated from MICA 84' Interior Design. Worked in downtown Baltimore for ten years as a commercial designer, and then went into design/furniture sales in Ft. Lauderdale for two years.
After just moving back to our hometown of MD from FL,i was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 1998, as our daughter was three and our son was only eighteen months. Scary times and Barb Raksin held my hand!
I did not know why I was so tired? Thyroid tested normal, but the big swollen arm pit lymph node that was only evident and sore for a day, concerned me.
Sure enough, I had cancer at age 37. I chose GBMC's team because I felt like a person there, not a number. It was a great choice, now a twelve year survivor who travels back to MD to see family and my oncologist, Dr Cohen.
Myself, husband of 17 years and two children reside in NC, Raleigh area.
I spend my time evolving my interior design business, painting watercolors, became a Master Gardener....love taking and printing my photos, "making my world around me aesthetically pleasing" I am thankful daily for the Gift of Life.
