Originally from Chicago, Elizabeth (Liz) spent most of her adult life in the greater Washington, D.C. area after her family relocated to Northern Virginia. Liz attended college and graduate schools in the Washington, DC area and is a corporate healthcare attorney. In 2006, not too soon after losing her sister to breast cancer, Liz was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer and in May of 2009 suffered a reoccurrence. After undergoing a second chemotherapy regime and radiation therapy, Liz is in remission and is enjoying getting back to her regular routine -- which includes kickball, traveling and community service. Liz attributes her "survival-ship" to God Almighty and the enormous amount of support she receives from her loved ones, her closest friends and her cat and dog.
