Almost five years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, I’m cancer-free. And I consider myself to be very, very lucky. My wonderful husband and our beautiful daughters held my hand through the entire ordeal, my friends embraced me and breast cancer survivors reached out to me to offer hope and support. I wasn’t alone. Since that time, I’ve realized what’s important to me and what’s not. Little things that used to upset me don’t matter at all, anymore. Life’s just too short to waste the energy that can be channeled to doing good things. And now I’m reaching out to offer hope and support to others. I am very, very lucky.
